24/7/365 GROW

Wow, what a day!

After one of the longest ministry weekends of my 6 years in full-time ministry I spent Monday in recovery!  I slept in (if 8:00 is sleeping in) and then played in the Camp Wesley Woods golf tournament at Green Meadows Country Club (where Becca and I had our wedding reception in Alcoa).  Our team consisted of Dave Lewis, Jayme Lyttle, Dennis Falls, and myself.  Dave and I had a leisurely drive out to the course with a bold cup of coffee and enjoyed a quiet lunch before hitting some range balls in preparation for our round.  25 teams competed in the 4 man scramble event.  Our team from First Farragut brought home the title by shooting an amazing 21 under par!  15 birdies and 3 eagles!  WOW!  Even better than that we brought home a full camp scholarship for a youth from our church for this summer’s upcoming camping season.  The fellowship and the fun were outstanding.  I’m always sad when day’s like that are over.

Becca and I shared a quiet dinner together after the tournament title.  Sweet potato curry…so good!  I then tried to make myself smell like I hadn’t been golfing all day (deodorant and body spray) and headed out into the wintry weather (upper 50’s with a stiff blowing wind) to watch Dave Lewis’ daughter Erin (who is in the youth group) play softball at the Cove.  She plays for the reds and they had a big game against the team in 2nd place in their league, the Pirates.  AMAZING GAME.  Erin hit a 2 run homer, DESTROYED THE BALL, in the top of the 4th inning to give the reds a 5-1 advantage.  The Pirates hit a 2 run homer in the bottom of the 4th but could get no more as the reds held on for a 5-3 win.  What a game.  I was so glad I could be there to celebrate with Erin her awesome moment.  Such an amazing young woman of God!  Proud to have her in the youth group!

It was such an awesome day of fellowship, golf, a great meal with my wife, and softball!  I’m so blessed to have awesome friends here at First Farragut and to have some amazing youth group kids to walk through life with!

Please be praying for me this week as I prepare to preach this Sunday for Senior Recognition Sunday!  Busy week in the office as I get ready to bring the Word of God!  Thanks in advance for those prayers!  See you all this week!  Have a great Tuesday!
