Hi Mark (and Becca and darling dog)!
I think you'll be happy to know that as a young bride in Fort Worth in 1964, I read your grandfather's fruit cake recipe in the Star-Telegram (for which I later wrote) and decided I was brave enough to make something so fancy! What a hit---with my family in Oklahoma, my friends at church (always a big seller at the church bazaar), as a special gift. For 45 years Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without making at least one Aronowitz fruit cake. Isn't it surprising how, like dropping a pebble in the lake, you never know where the ripples will end. My husband and I now live in Hot Springs Village in Arkansas, and I'm carrying on the Aronowitz tradition here!
Congratulations on taking on the mantel of a wonderful celebration tradition!
Best,
Betty Alspaugh

Hi Mark, I am your Dad's cousin. I have enjoyed reading your blog for some time now. Especially enjoyed your tribute to your Dad today on his 59th birthday. Hope we get to see you and your wife again sometime!

JAM without me...my thoughts and prayers covered you all this past weekend.

I know that God worked and that life changing seeds were planted. At some point the harvest will be more than we can imagine.

Come see us in the country.
